Joe Murphy was born and raised in Lawrence Township. He graduated from Lawrence North High School in 2014 and went on to continue his education at Indiana University Bloomington. During his time at IU, Joe was a summer intern for the Controller’s Office where he helped write Financial Policy for the City of Lawrence.
Upon graduating from IU in the spring of 2019, Joe returned to the City as a full-time staff member. He currently serves as Mayor Collier’s Deputy Chief of Staff. His primary tasks include pedestrian connectivity, economic development and workforce development.
