Bob Wallace is the Deputy Chief of Administration for the City of Lawrence Fire Department.  Bob started in the Fire Service as a volunteer at Decatur Township in 1992 and then became a career firefighter in 1997 for the Lawrence Township Fire Department (LTFD).  In 2005 he was promoted to Lieutenant.  While at LTFD he served in several capacities including firefighter, paramedic, EMS duty officer, union president, and lieutenant.  In December 2010 he was promoted to captain for LFD. Bob served in this assignment at Station 40 until he was promoted to Division Chief of Administration in 2012.  In 2016 he was then promoted to Deputy Chief of Administration. 

He has several certifications, including Hazardous Materials, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services. Bob is a certified Primary Instructor (EMS), Firefighter Instructor, and also has certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).  He recently finished his AS Degree in Paramedic Science at Ivy Tech and is currently pursuing his AS in Fire Science. Bob continuously strives to become more knowledgeable in the fire service, and enjoys passing his knowledge to others in this field.

 

Bob has also traveled the country to advance his education in the response and mitigation of WMD incidents.  A few examples of the classes he has received education and training certifications on WMD are: Agricultural Response to Terrorism - Center for Domestic Preparedness, Incident Command for WMD Events -  Center for Domestic Preparedness, and Training in Live Agent (WMD Live Agent Environment) -  Center for Domestic Preparedness  - Anniston, Alabama; Advanced Chemical and  Biological Integrated Response Course - West Desert Training Center, Dugway Proving Grounds, Utah; WMD Radiological/Nuclear Course for HazMat Technicians - Center for Radiological/Nuclear Training (CTOS) – Nevada; Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings (IRTB) -Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC), New Mexico; Highway Emergency Response Specialist - Security and Emergency Response Training Center – Colorado; and Crude by Rail Emergency Response Training (CBR) - Security and Emergency Response Training Center – Colorado

 

He and his wife of  21 years and have three children. When not at work, he enjoys golf, softball, and spending time with his family.
